Water Certificates

Be sure to obtain the Water Share Certificate from the seller if you are buying a cabin or vacant lot.  If the certificate is lost, stolen, or destroyed, the SFPC Board of Directors may direct that a new certificate be issued under Utah Code Section 70A-8-409.1.  The shareholder must submit  a Request for Replacement of Certificate to the SFPC Secretary for SFPC Board consideration.  Find the Replacement Request Form in the Rules and Regulations section.  If approved, the Transfer Agent listed below will issue a new Water Certificate.  Keep it in a safe place!

Service Line

Each shareholder is entitled to a 3/4 inch line to connect to the corporation mainline.  It is the shareholder's responsibility to to pay for the service line installation and maintenance.  Service lines must be buried 6 ft. deep to prevent winter freeze-ups.

Landscape Water

The SFPC contract with Salt Lake City does not permit water for outdoor landscape use.  Many people keep a garden hose connected during wildfire season.  Recently Salt Lake City has allowed limited irrigation around cabins to keep those areas green in case of fire.

Illegal Bleeding

It is prohibited to leave water running in a cabin to prevent water lines from freezing.  Illegal bleeding endangers the entire community supply.  Summer cabin water lines should be drained  in the fall to prevent pipe breakage and structure damage.
